Indoor pool built, in part, because of cat
Barrow County owes its new indoor pool partly to a cat named Andy. Jean Roberts, who grew up in Winder but left after high school, began returning regularly after her mother, Kate Russell, fell ill about five years ago.

Athens Farmers
Market Begins Today
Locally grown produce and other eats and items will be on display and up for sale at Bishop Park beginning Saturday. The weekly Athens Famers Market will run from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays through Nov. 16 at Bishop Park, 705 Sunset Drive, generally at the picnic pavilion.
